Black Friday offers have now ended
Originating in the United States, the day after Thanksgiving - commonly referred to as Black Friday - became one of the busiest shopping days of the year. National retailers traditionally offer limited money-saving offers on a wide variety of items in an effort to lure shoppers into stores while offering similar deals online.
More recently, Black Friday has grown popular in the UK, and been followed by other shopping events, including Small Business Saturday, which encourages customers to shop local, and Cyber Monday, which promotes online shopping. Lastly, Giving Tuesday has also emerged to encourage charitable donations.
