We love creating unique pieces that are the perfect wardrobe piece to celebrate and inspire YOU. With the help of our incredible design staff and their amazing work here at Chi Chi London. We spoke with our Head Designer, Alessandra, to learn about the process behind these stunning watercolour dresses:
“My initial Design process starts with gathering inspiration. Whether this be from the from the Seasonal Print trends and Catwalks. A good old shopping trip to a late weekend walk through the wood to the ponds, taking in along the way the multitude of colours within a singular flower petal. My personal favourite is taking in the colours Emitted when the sun flows through a stain glass window creating its own pastel halo.
From this stage I then move on selecting colours that complement each other and can truly emote the overall feel and mood I am trying to portray. With the watercolour print packs this focused more around a delicate and ethereal palette. I then work with various tools to compose and unite my prints. The watercolour print pack is created using mix of a painterly techniques in diluted hues and saturated bights, to create a commercial update from heritage floral offerings whilst softening the tie dye effect, exhibiting artistic and romantic techniques to create the watercolour artwork.
From hand painted florals and brush strokes to computer aided manipulations. Layering and using various mediums such as photographs, various filters, brush, and colour techniques to create one this one a kind abstract and washed texture in these beautiful hues. Playing with various intensity and saturation levels to ensure you truly get a unique and fluid print design.”
Made for any occasion, whether it’s a girly brunch, summer party or being the best dressed wedding guest. The watercolour collection offers versatility and flattering fits that are bound to make heads turn as soon as you step through the door.
