Planning The Perfect Hen Do: 8 Do’s & Don’ts
If you haven’t already seen the film bridesmaids staring Kirsten Wig, then hit watch on Netflix ASAP! It is the perfect guideline of what you DON’T do on a hen do! But it is a movie that will definitely give you the giggles and get you in the mood to party it out one last time before the wedding bells chime! One of the most important memories for the gals is obviously the hen do! Something you’ve probably been discussing since you were teens, all the fun things you want to plan for that once in a lifetime celebration. When there is just so much to do and only so much you can get through on the day, we thought we could give you a hand with our easy to follow DO’S and DON’TS because we all want to make the bride happy, and this is the way to do it!
1- Ask the Bride
This is the most important point! Although you may have in mind what the bride wants and what you think will work, you have to make sure you don’t get too carried away, so DO ask the bride what she would love to see for her special celebration!
2- Organise, organise, organise
A pen and paper at bay will keep the chaos away! Time is of the essence, and DON’T forget to give yourself plenty of time to reserve those special places that could get booked up quickly…
3- We must budget darlings!
We should make sure prices are flexible; we all have different limits so being mindful will make the event something for the whole bridal squad, DON’T leave out others!
4- The infamous Games
DO play games as it will ease in the names! It may be that the hen party haven’t all met before, so games are a great way to make some icebreakers, possibly at pre drinks?
5- You are the dancing queen!
The tunes DON’T need to be boring, they can be legendary, grab a playlist at the ready; all the bride’s favs and some nostalgic bangers will do the trick!
6- Lights, camera, action
DO take some epic pics! Photographs will be a fabulous memory for your bride-to-be bestie (although some of them may not all be appropriate for the gram!)
7- It's the thought that counts!
DON’T go mainstream; make it personal for the bride, handmade decorations or gift bags will give the day that beautiful extra touch.
8- And Lastly...
